Opportunities for the
discerning amateur racing driver

Two cars are currently available from the Stephen Crunkhorn Collection for hire or test. We are able to offer the use of a 1969 Lotus 61 for selected rounds of the UK Historic Sports Car Club Formula Ford Championship.

A hire fee of £495 is applicable per event with all race entries and engineering support being invoiced to the competitor separately from Mark Dunham Race Engineering.

Test days are offered at a reduced rate. Additionally hirers are expected to be able to provide a returnable damage deposit or demonstrate that the car will be fully insured during the race event.

This Lotus 61 took Mike Pick to his class C championship and represents an ideal entry level car for historic motorsport. The sister car is a 1970 Lotus 69 which represents a number of structural improvements over the 61 and has the potential to claim both pole positions and overall race wins for her pilot. The 69 is available under the same arrangements via Mark Dunham Race Engineering but at slightly higher additional hire cost £695 in recognition of its higher value and increased performance potential.

Commercial Partners

We are proud to continue our long standing association with Mark Dunham Race Engineering. Stephen Crunkhorn Historic Racing exclusively used MDRE to prepare its Lotus 61 and Lotus 69 Racing Cars.

Kipling Projects are a principle sponsor of the Lotus 61. Stephen Crunkhorn is delighted that Managing Director Gayle Kipling chose his racing operation to promote her project management consulting business and specifically provide exposure to her creation of subject matter expert groups focusing on the exploitation of cloud technology. Stephen and Gayle have enjoyed a long association in the delivery of a number of public sector projects.

Paul Greenslade’s Light and Sound company based in South London represent the third of the 2011 commercial partners. Light and Sound used the Lotus 61 as a backdrop to promote their wholesale and retail lighting business alongside their impressive capabilities in home cinema installation.

News in Brief

Stephen Crunkhorn Historic Racing have two new projects under development. The first aims to introduce a Lotus 70 Formula F5000 to the collection making it available to Lotus enthusiasts in New Zealand.

The second, closer to home, builds upon a chance encounter to fund the restoration of a Lotus Formula 2 car. The aim for that car would be to compete in selected UK and European historic events.
